Tell Randy What You Need

A few details and we'll take it from there.

What kind of jobs does Handy Randy handle?

Drywall, painting, doors, minor plumbing, carpentry, trim, fixtures, ceiling fans, TV mounting, deck and porch repairs, and general home maintenance. If it's a small-to-medium residential repair, there's a good chance we handle it.

Do you take small handyman jobs?

Yes. Small jobs are a big part of what we do. If it only takes a few minutes or a couple hours, that's fine. Make a list and we'll knock out several in one visit.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Charleston, South Charleston, Dunbar, St. Albans, Nitro, Cross Lanes, Kanawha City, Teays Valley, Hurricane, and surrounding Kanawha Valley communities. If you're nearby, reach out — there's a good chance we can help.

Can I send pictures of the repair?

Please do. A couple photos help us understand the job before we ever head out. Send them through the Request Service form or text them to (304) 513-1033.

Do you provide estimates?

Yes. Tell us what's going on — ideally with photos — and we'll let you know what the work involves and the best next step before anything starts.

How quickly can someone come out?

It depends on the schedule and the job, but we do our best to get to you promptly, especially for the small stuff. Reach out and we'll give you a realistic timeframe.

Can you handle multiple repairs during one visit?

Absolutely. That's the whole idea behind our honey-do service — list out everything that needs attention and we'll work through it in a single trip whenever we can.

Do you work with landlords and rental properties?

Yes. We regularly help landlords with turn-ready repairs and maintenance between tenants, plus the ongoing upkeep rental properties need.

Do you repair drywall?

Yes. We patch holes and cracks, match texture, and prep for paint so the repair blends in. See drywall repair for what's included.

Can you install doors, fixtures, shelving and TVs?

We can. Door installation, light fixtures, ceiling fans, shelving, cabinets, and TV mounting are all in our wheelhouse.

Do you handle plumbing or electrical work?

We handle minor handyman-level plumbing and fixture work — faucets, toilets, supply lines, and the like. Work requiring a specialty license, like major plumbing reroutes or electrical panel work, may need an appropriately licensed trade professional. We'll always tell you straight if a job is outside our scope.

Do you provide materials or can I purchase them myself?

Either works. We can pick up what's needed, or you can buy your own and we'll install it. Just let us know what you prefer.

What if I'm not sure whether my project is something you handle?

Send us a picture or give us a call. That's the easiest way to find out — we'd rather you ask than guess. Text (304) 513-1033 or use the Request Service form and we'll let you know the best next step.

Who is the best handyman in Charleston, WV?

That's your call to make. Here's what we stand on: Handy Randy is Charleston-based and veteran-owned, and small jobs are welcome — a dripping faucet or a loose hinge is worth the trip. Qualifying workmanship is backed by the 180-day Randy Shield, and if a job needs a licensed trade pro, we'll tell you straight instead of taking on work that's outside our scope.

Do you repair decks and porches?

Yes. We replace loose and rotted boards, tighten railings, fix steps, shore up joists and framing, and repair porch posts and trim. Spot repairs are usually more practical than a rebuild. See deck and porch repairs for the details.

Should I hire a handyman or a contractor?

It comes down to the size of the job. A handyman is the right fit for small-to-medium repairs around the house — drywall, doors, trim, fixtures, minor plumbing, and the honey-do list. If a job needs a specialty license, like major plumbing reroutes, electrical panel work, or a large structural build, you want an appropriately licensed trade professional — and we'll tell you straight when that's the case.

Still have a question?

The easiest way to find out if we can help is to ask. Send a photo or give us a call.
